Happy February everyone! It is hard to believe, but we are already heading into the second month of 2017. Wasn’t Christmas just a few days ago? Where does the time go?
Christmas is already a month in the rear view mirror and all of the February holiday magic is right around the corner. Several big holidays take place in the month of February along with many daily holidays that have become favorites over the years.
Groundhog Day will make its return on Feb. 2nd as Punxsutawney Phil takes center stage for all of the world to see! Will Spring come early or will there be six more weeks of winter? The groundhog will reveal his answer from Gobblers Knob early in the morn of Feb. 2.
February also brings the biggest NFL game of the year, the Super Bowl!
This year the big game will see the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons on Feb. 5 from Houston, Texas. For New England, making the Super Bowl seems to be an every other year occurrence.
The Patriots will be trying to win their 5th championship in team history, while the Atlanta Falcons will be looking to win title number one!
Of course the big holiday of the month is Valentines Day.
Unlike days of the past when a man would bring his lady flowers and chocolate (which really isn’t a bad idea still) nowadays anything from tech products like cell phones, fit bits, video games and other gadgets have become more popular than the old traditional gifts. It doesn’t matter what you buy your significant other, as long as it surprises them.
Other unique holidays that take place in the month of February include National Pizza Day (9th), National Drink Wine Day (18th), Love Your Pet Day (20th), National Margarita Day (22nd) and National Tortilla Day on the 24th.
Of course there are a lot more daily holidays in February, and we want to cover as many as possible.
Monthly celebrations include Black History Month, Responsible Pet Owner’s Month and National Weddings Month – that’s just to mention a few.
Plus we are just a little over a month until the first day of Spring arrives on March 20th!
