New Year’s Resolution… What??? Why would I even suggest thinking about this when the holiday rush of shopping, baking, and decorating is just about to begin?

Because on Thursday November 16, the American Cancer Society is sponsoring their 40th Annual Great American Smoke Out Day.

Their hope is to encourage Americans to stop tobacco smoking by challenging those who feel compelled to quit smoking and give up cigarettes for 24 hours, hoping this one decision would continue forever.

This is where your New Year’s Resolution comes into play. If you currently smoke, and are thinking of stopping, why not start now?

Quitting before the end of the year means you have already fulfilled your New Year’s Resolution, and the exhilarating feeling of your personal accomplishment would be a wonderful way to begin the New Year.
